Born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina, I was introduced to music and art at a very young age. The combination of having an artist for a mother and a funk-lovin' father gave me the perfect environment to pursue my artistic interests. Writing poetry for school contests led me to want to write songs. I swiftly dropped the viola lessons that I had been taking and grabbed a guitar instead. Soon after that, I began to learn the piano as well.
A chance meeting at a gas station brought Jon Eldridge into my world. He began showing me some of his writing secrets and helped me improve in the craft. We assembled a band and began playing the local music scene. The band was well received, and my love for live performance was born. As most young bands do, we eventually headed off on different paths.
I took time off from performing to start a family and pursue some of my other interests in woodworking, wood turning, sculpting and starting a small organic vegetable farm that helped feed the rural community around us. I continued with my passion for music and writing, albeit from the comfort of my tiny farm.
On one of our frequent phone calls, Jon dropped the news that he was moving to Nashville in order to pursue the ultimate dream. Two weeks later, my family threw our entire lives into a U-Haul and made the leap; we were Nashville bound. Please join us on this journey of pursuing our truest passion - connecting with people through music.
